About//

I have always had a passion for event planning.  Most little kids have an imaginary friend;  I was daydreaming of the parties I could throw when I was "all grown up".  While other girls were playing with barbies, I was planning TUMS tea parties for me & my two best friends.  When I got older, I decided to attend Utah Valley University, where I am majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations in an effort to make that little girl's dreams come true.  It was there that I met one of the best men in the world, so I decided to make him my husband.

My parents told me I could do whatever I wanted for my wedding, as long as I kept it under $3,000. which is over $20,000 less than the average Utah County wedding cost of $24,000.  At first it seemed impossible to have a fun, beautiful wedding for that cost, let alone find a dress and accessories, but with a little research, a few mistakes, and A LOT of creativity, I was able to pull off the perfect wedding without breaking the budget.  Because of our inexpensive wedding, my husband and I were able to start our lives together free of debt, and I will always be grateful to my parents for helping me to see it could be done.

Since the wedding, I have been able to plan even more events on a very minimal budget, so I decided to start this blog to help other people produce their dream event without going in to debt.  Here you can find everything from tips and tricks, DIY crafts, spotlights on other money-saving brides, and vendor spotlights.  Although this blog is focused mainly on weddings, the money saving principles can translate to any sort of event from baby showers to birthday parties.

Thank you for reading & happy planning to you all!
